Our latest guest ale as we march on in our journey to seek out and quaff this country's finest refreshments. What did we know about this before ordering in enough to keep us going? We like Jennings brewery. What's not to like about something that comes from Cockermouth? The Lake District's finest export we say.
Forget Wainwright and his walks -if he'd been on this stuff he'd never have left the pub or possibly if he'd decided to go for a ramble after a few of these he'd have written a very different account of his time in amongst the beautiful scenery.
A light bitter 4.2% , gold , hoppy citrus , full slightly sweet. The brewery bumf says it uses golding hops and a handful of crystal malt. Delicate, subtle aroma. The beer shield has a picture of a crazed woman with a spade in front of a much older fella. More like crystal meth than crystal malt.
Anyway, it's a very decent beer, definitely worth a try. Enjoy it, it's only going to be with us for a short while as we will be delving into the beer bible again shortly to unearth another winner.
