Watford duo stay for a further month
Watford FC’s Britt Assombalonga and Connor Smith have had their loan deal at Wealdstone extended for a further month.
Both youngsters have made a big impact since arriving from Vicarage Road and have rapidly become firm favorites with the Stones fans.
Young professional Assombalonga has already found the net eight times in his striking role for the Stones, whilst midfielder Smith has also been very influential, scoring twice. Both Hornets players will now be available to help Stones progress during an important and very busy period in the League and FA Trophy – the Stones take on Blue Square Premier side Barrow AFC in the 2nd round proper on 14th January. ©WFC
FA Trophy Clash at the Vale
Stones start the New Year with expectant hope! A run of 10 games unbeaten, with 29 goals scored and 3 conceded means that confidence is sky-high. It will need to be however, as January will feature some great matches at The Vale.
No less than 5 matches will be at home, including the visit of Barrow AFC in the FA Trophy.
The Blue Square Bet Premier (“Conference”) side will make the long journey down on 14th January. It’s safe to say that they’re not looking forward to the trip! This is a real chance for a “giant-killing”. With only 32 teams left in the Trophy; this is a game that shouldn’t be missed!
Four league matches are also lined up and, if the Stones continue their current form, a “play-off charge” is definitely on the cards! If you haven’t been before (or for some time) then now would be a great chance to see what it’s all about! Great local football on your doorstep!
